We had a federal election this year. Turn out for elections in Canada have been pretty low amongst young voters. Some people feel it is because they are unsure of how to vote. In an attempt to educate youth in how elections work, Student Voting polls were set up all over Canada a week before the actual election. The idea was to teach the students the platforms of the Candidates, and allow them to make up their own minds on who to vote for. Then they got to go to a polling station and experience what is was like to vote. The polls were run like a regular polling station. After the actual election the results were compared and they were very similar..
