Chewbacca

Since we had to say good bye to our Sandi dog we decided to keep one of her puppies to ease the suffering. He is so cute I can hardly stand it. Everyone is glad that we have him in our lives.

Puppy Love

February was a full of emotions as we had to say good-bye to our beloved Sandi. She was a very loving dog that had a place in all our hearts. To top things off, the news of her illness came the same day we were handing her puppies off to their new owners. On the bright side, we were able to retain Chewbacca because the new owners back out of the deal due to his minor hernia. Live is full of cloudy days, but if you're looking you will always find a silver lining.

Tumbling

This year all the kids took a tumbling class to help them improve their core strength. Improving their core strength aided in the development of their other activities such as dance. It also helped us to keep fit throughout the winter months. Miss M was a student teacher for 2 tumbling classes and 3 ballet/tap classes. The freedom a home education has afforded my children is priceless. Absolutely enjoying life to the fullest each day is such an amazing reward of shooting at home.

Each one of my kids were able to set and reach a goal in their respective classes. I love being able to see the smile on their face when they achieve goals they set for themselves.

Skating

It has been a long, cold winter, and we all needed to get out of the house. Ironically we went ice skating. Choosing an activity that would have actually given us a break form the cold, like swimming, would have made to much sense. I guess our Canadian roots run deep.

Chocolate Black Bean Cookies

Our aunt is inspiring us to make
WHOLE FOOD, PLANT BASED
treats. They are delicious and we don't feel yucky after eating them.(They disappeared as fast or faster than the sugar filled ones)

Fall Sports

This Year, fall sports took us to a few different Volleyball tournaments. It was nice that Mr. W was able to take home a first place medal. He was truly amazing, and worked really hard learning a new sport.

Mr. G, dominated on the Flag Football field again this year, but this time is was at QB. He really enjoyed being able to throw the ball. He has a natural ability to read the players on the other team, so he was fabulous on defence as well.

Trying to keep warm on the side lines.

Archery

We have discovered a new, individual, sport that everyone seems to enjoy, and is excelling at.

Super Slime!

Nothing like a good ol' science experiment to kick off a new school year. This Nickelodeon slime kit worked like a champ. It was a big hit with everyone in the household.  An added bonus to it entertaining qualities is its surprisingly tremendous relaxing and calming effect.

Winter Cub Camp 2017

During our winter break this year we had a Winter Cub Camp. At the camp we went on a 3 Km hike, built Hobo Stoves, played games, and made Pine Cone Bird Feeders. We also made Fire Starters, built a fire, roasted hotdogs, and made cake in an orange peel
At first I was sceptical that the fire starters would work very well, but the surprised us. The fire starters are actually pretty amazing. They are super simple to make, and work like a charm. We even cut the toilet paper tubes in half and they still worked.
