This Extremely fun LIGHTNING BUG craft was a great way to learn about the different sections and parts of an insect. It also took up the better part of a rainy day to make, and the rest of the afternoon was spent playing with them. The idea came form this website. They have all sorts of ideas to keep kids reading and learning all summer long. I have also added some of the ideas they had to my "I'm Bored Jar" form an earlier post.A huge storm took out the power last night. These handy little bugs are going to be tonight's emergency night lights. We are going to fill the bottles with water, and insert a glow stick to light up the night. It is also a great idea for a camping night light in a tent or trailer. No batteries or flames to worry about.
